Chief consultant, Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital
Dr Anup Bastola is working as a Chief Consultant (Joint secretary) Tropical Medicine Physician in Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH) in Kathmandu under ministry of health. He graduated in Dermatology from National academy of medical sciences, Bir Hospital in 2012 and Clinical Tropical Medicine from Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University Thailand in 2015. His area of interest is Neglected Tropical Diseases, emerging and reemerging diseases and HIV/ AIDS. He has dozens of publications in peer review journals. Since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal, he was involved in management of infectious and tropical diseases in the designated hospital ‘STIDH’.He is an expert in many national and international technical working groups including COVID, Malaria, Leprosy, NTD, Dengue etc and different health related policies of MOHP.
He is currently involved in studies in COVID, NTDs, febrile illnesses etc. in collaboration with national universities including Tribhuvan University and International universities including Washington University and Mahidol University.
He has been awarded with multiple honors including Suprawal Janasewa Shree III by President of Nepal,Barbara Foundation Covid-19 special honor for his excellent contribution in treating and preventing the spread of Coronavirus and“Ambassador of peace” from UNIVERSAL PEACE FEDERATION.
