Dr. Jageshwor Gautam is currently working as chief of Health Coordination Division/ spokesperson of Ministry of Health Population and member of the senior management team for the control of the Covid-19 pandemic. He has specializations in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Gynae laparoscopic surgery) and had previously worked as chairperson of Chitwan Medical College. He was also appointed as chairperson of the Nepal Medical Council (NMC), the sole government entity that tests the competence of MBBS graduates and specialists before getting the license to practice. Till now, he has performed more than 30000 surgeries, out of that 3500 health camps were held in remote areas of Nepal. Besides that, he was Director of Paropakar Maternity & Women's Hospital and worked twice as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in National Academy of Medical Sciences. He has also worked as Principal Investigator in many multicenter randomized controlled trials.
