A population level with comprehensive understanding of the existing health care system is needed to consider every aspect of health care. A literate citizen on health will assist in planning for future needs, mapping the appropriate resources, and helps to bridge the connection between cost and quality outcomes including technology, quality, and research in medicine and public health. Thus, NHC aims to work towards finding credible solutions from the community itself by making them aware about health practices implied and the real ground root scenario.
The evolving situation of COVID-19 has brought uncertainty in health and economy with various impacts across the world While a lot of progress was being made in achieving SDG goals, COVID-19 threatens to reverse the outcomes. Poor and vulnerable people from low resource settings like Nepal are disproportionately affected due to fragile health systems, inadequate resources and poor leadership. There, NHC strives to promote a global agenda in the healthcare sector to establish a platform on which healthcare experts can exchange ideas and discuss strategies to transform this ineffective system into a capable one.
In a developing country like Nepal, disease outbreaks like COVID-19 pandemic have exposed how loopholes of the existing health system. In this scenario, health care professionals need to have a concise understanding of the existing health care system to provide quality services considering all political, economic, environmental and policy-related dimensions of health care. So, analyzing our health policies will be insightful towards understanding how health policies must evolve in order to meet the needs of a changing public health demand.
Media plays a vital role to make society and communities see in which state they are. Having the incorporation of different aspects of the society and coverage of every in and out of it, the media has a huge responsibility to poke and underline every deed performed in the health sector of the country. A healthy discourse, how? The media in Nepal should come forth with a different interventional approach to peek at the reality and recommend what has to be crafted in policies and play the role of a monitor to safeguard the investment and resources for its long-term impact in attaining healthy and sustainable Nepal.
